AAM Rehearsal Drawings / Viktoria Mullova
Concerti - Bach and Haydn
Created during live concert performance with Viktoria Mullova and the Academy of Ancient Music, Milton Court Concert Hall, London, November 2019
Relying entirely on aural and emotional sense, in these works I attempt to capture the essential spirit and form of individual concerto and symphony movements as experienced in live concert performance. Works by C.P.E Bach, J.S. Bach and Haydn - each with its own very individual character, tempo and tone -  all drawn in fast succession during live concert performance. This was an an experiment in abstraction - in individualised abstraction - which demanded instant bold decisions and fast synthesis of sound and mark.
